Haha, yes I do have arm warmers but I left them along with my shoes back in Birmingham! Fortunately, I had brought a second pair of leg warmers, a back-up pair of shoes, and an old set of pedals (long story) which I threw onto the bike after we arrived in Gatlinburg. Yes, I was definitely fortunate with my crash because I fell on a banked turn with my wheels sliding out up the bank and me falling down the long way – definitely a bone breaking type of wreck. Fortunately most of my momentum was in the forward direction and the ice smoothed out the road so I only have a little bit of road rash on my left arm. The wreck happened on the way back down at mile marker 14.

this is awesome. i’m glad you’re ok. that crash could’ve had considerably worse consequences.

i’m not surprised you hit ice. we saw ice at the top of Mt Mitchell in the first week of October. you’re practically at the same elevation, a month and a half later.

also, please tell me you have at least 1 pair of functioning arm-warmers.
